I love the character of Mitch Rapp, but as the series continues the stories grow stale. It's always people breaking the rules, crooked politicians, and agents going rogue. I understand the character's role but ingenuity with his missions and interaction with leaders in DC would be welcomed. The profanity is tiresome as well as calling people female body parts. Yes, jihadis have a dastardly plot against America, but the real savagery here is the political infighting over the CIA in the years after Abu Ghraib.Mitch Rapp and crew have foiled two terrorist hit teams being sent to the US. Now they learn of a third. But the bare-knuckles tactics they must use to get two high-ranking Al Qaeda men to talk, get out. They must keep trying to catch the terrorists while Rapp is diverted fending off a Congressional investigation.Politicians jeopardize their work by leaking, posture by calling them criminals and torturers, impede their work at every turn, all the while failing to grasp that Rapp and shadow warriors like him are what keep the nation safe.Particularly good in this book is the look at Rapp’s sidekick Mike Nash.
